フランスでテキスタイルアートを学んだ後、日本のエンターテインメントや商業空間への作品制作を通して、空間とアートの関係性を探求してきました。そうした経験を重ねる中で、幾何学刺繍と墨を融合させた独自の表現「幾何学刺繍＋墨アート」を創案しました。

私の制作の出発点にあるのは、「見えないものを見つめる」という一貫した視点です。

幾何学刺繍、墨、そして自然素材を重ねながら、自然界に潜む見えない構造や循環、静かな秩序を探求しています。

森を歩くたびに、枝分かれする樹木や葉脈、鉱物の結晶など、繰り返し現れる幾何学的なパターンに出会います。それらは自然の中に流れる秩序やリズムを静かに映し出し、私の制作の重要な基盤となっています。

近年は、音の振動が幾何学模様を生み出す現象「サイマティクス」にも強く惹かれています。目には見えない振動が物質に形を与える現象は、幾何学を世界の構造を読み解くための一つの言語として捉える現在の制作へとつながっています。

素材には、できる限り自然に近いものを選んでいます。オーガニックコットン、天然の絹糸、墨、日本画の技法から着想を得た金銀箔や顔彩などを重ねることで、糸と墨が静かに響き合う独自の表情を生み出しています。

私にとって《幾何学刺繍＋墨アート》とは、形そのものを描くためのものではありません。自然、人間、時間、そして生命を結ぶ見えない構造を静かに見つめ、その気配を一つの作品として表現するための試みです。

After studying textile art in France, Asami Goto created works for Japan's entertainment industry and commercial spaces, exploring new relationships between art and space. Through years of experimentation and reflection, she developed her original practice, Geometric Embroidery + Sumi Ink Art, combining geometric embroidery, sumi ink, and natural materials.

At the heart of her practice lies a continuing interest in the unseen.

Rather than depicting visible forms, she explores the hidden structures, quiet order, and cycles that underlie nature. Layering geometric embroidery, sumi ink, and natural materials, her work gives quiet form to the invisible rhythms that connect life, time, and the natural world.

Repeated observations of branching trees, leaf veins, crystalline mineral formations, and other recurring patterns found in the forest have become an essential foundation of her work. These encounters reveal the subtle geometry embedded within nature and continue to shape her artistic language.

In recent years, she has also been inspired by cymatics—the study of how sound vibrations generate geometric patterns. Although sound itself is invisible, its ability to organize matter through vibration has deepened her exploration of geometry as a language for revealing the world's underlying structures.

She carefully selects materials that remain as close to nature as possible. Organic cotton, natural silk threads, sumi ink, Japanese mineral pigments, and gold and silver leaf are layered together, allowing thread and ink to resonate quietly across the surface.

For Asami Goto, Geometric Embroidery + Sumi Ink Art is not a means of depicting form itself. It is an ongoing exploration of the unseen structures that connect nature, humanity, time, and life, giving quiet presence to what cannot ordinarily be seen.
